The International Students Science Fair (ISSF) 2025 was a major international event celebrating its 20th anniversary, taking place from January 27 to 31, 2025, and hosted by Mahidol Wittayanusorn School (MWIT). This fair brought together students from around the world to share ideas, explore new scientific concepts, and collaborate on innovative projects. A key part of ISSF 2025 was the workshops and excursions, which provided students with hands-on experiences that connected science learning to real-world applications.

These activities were designed to enhance the learning experience by allowing students to apply scientific knowledge in practical ways. The workshops encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, while the excursions gave students the opportunity to see how science is used in different industries and research fields. Additionally, the Cultural Excursion introduced students to Thailand’s rich history and traditions, helping to create a deeper understanding of the connection between science, culture, and society. Together, these activities made ISSF 2025 an exciting and meaningful event that went beyond the classroom.

The workshops on January 28, 2025, introduced students to innovative science and technology topics. One of the workshops, Collaborative Telerobotics, let students work with remote-controlled robots used in rescue missions.

The Internet of Things (IoT): Smart Home Project taught students how smart devices connect and operate in modern homes. The Eco-Health Board Game Challenge allowed students to learn about environmental issues and health through an interactive board game. The STEM Challenge focused on engineering and physics by having students design a gravity-powered car.

On January 29, 2025, students went on Science Excursions, visiting research institutions and industries where science plays a key role. The Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO) introduced students to robots used in manufacturing, medicine, and other fields. At Aromatic Farm, students learned about sustainable farming techniques that support the environment.

The Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, provided insights into medical advancements, including cancer treatments and neuroscience research. Finally, the Thailand Institute of Food Research showed how technology is used in food production and development. These excursions helped students see how science is applied in everyday life and future careers.

The Cultural Excursion on January 30, 2025, offered students the chance to explore Thailand’s heritage and traditions. Students visited Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and the Grand Palace, where they learned about Thai royal history and admired traditional architecture.

The excursion concluded at ICONSIAM, a modern cultural and shopping destination where students experienced both contemporary and traditional Thai culture. This trip provided an opportunity to appreciate Thailand’s artistic and historical contributions while also fostering cultural exchange between participants.

The workshops and excursions at ISSF 2025 were more than just educational activities-they were essential for making the fair an enriching and engaging experience. These activities allowed students to develop critical thinking skills, apply their knowledge in real-world settings, and form global connections with their peers. The Cultural Excursion also played a significant role in broadening students’ perspectives, helping them understand how science and culture are interconnected. Through these experiences, students not only gained new knowledge but also developed valuable skills that will benefit them in the future.

ISSF 2025 was more than a science fair—it was a place for young minds to explore, collaborate, and grow. By participating in workshops, excursions, and cultural activities, students left with new inspiration and a greater appreciation for science and global connections. This event continues to be a leading platform for future scientists to exchange ideas, build friendships, and contribute to a better world.
